Who’dya Hear?

Boiiiiiiing!

Late notice, perhaps, but I just learned last night that John Vanco, director of the Erie Art Museum, is to be a guest on the live, coast-to-coast broadcast of “Michael Feldman’s Whad’Ya Know?” program on NPR Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. Those of you who know Vanco also know that he can be, shall we say, a bit laconic — and thus a perfect foil for Feldman’s motormouth Groucho-manque style. So, don’t touch that dial.

And no, he will not be playing the jaw harp on the program.

On the Scene

John Nasukaluk Clare is a broadcaster, bon vivant, composer (“the Seven Deadly Cindys,” premiered in Cleveland in July) and “great Eskimo violinist.” He just contributed an article to New Music Box, the online magazine of the American Music Center, about the new music scene in Central PA. His blog, Clasically Hip, is to Central PA what I hope ltc might become for northwestern PA. And since one of his posts chronicled a breakfast of “two cigars and a pot of coffee,” he is what I hope to become, gustatorially, at least.
